Ten Things I Learnt Travelling Alone


  1. Your bag will get so much rubbish in it.
  2. Backpacks are good- better than over-the-shoulder.
  3. Backpacks are annoying for wallets- not as good as over-the-shoulder.
  4. Collect pamphlets and maps from the places you go to help with telling people back home.
  5. Proper cameras are good for scenes, phones for selfies.
  6. Bring more entertainment than you think you need.
  7. Cash is, ultimately, king.
  8. You will be glad to be home, that doesn’t mean you didn’t enjoy yourself.
  9. It’s okay to have rest days.
  10. Things never take the time you think they will.
